Macbook Air 2020 Amazon

Hi, I decided to get a new macbook M1, but I can't decide which one to get. I am currently a grad school student. Usually I just use the computer for school work (essays, projects, emails), Youtube, and regular usage. I do use it for other kinds of purposes like music editing and video editing (but not to the extent of a professional). Sometimes I play games like the Sims 4 (also not an intensive gamer). Should I get the air or pro, depending on my usage? Right now, I prefer the Air because of the price and the amount of work it can do. But I'm afraid it will get really hot and slow as I increase the workload. I want to keep the new macbook for at least 6 years. If I do end up getting the Air, should I upgrade the RAM to 16GB? Thanks in advance!

The Sims 4 is currently $4.99 on Amazon. This is the lowest it has ever been, don’t miss it! The premise is the same, yet the Sims 4 creates more depth and introduces new mechanics, features, and vastly improved graphics. Speaking of graphics, this is a game that looks surprisingly good on a high-end Mac at the highest settings. You may need to download it through Origin instead of Steam to get it to work. Through Rosetta2 I have read many reports of the Sims 4 running on the M1 chip, but.

  • This computer will run Sims 4, but not very well, and not nearly as well as the much cheaper ($999) M1 MacBook Air. Everything @Bluebellflora said is correct. It's your money, and your choice what to do with it. But if you want decent performance rather than lag and frequent crashes, an M1.
  • I’ve just recently got the 2020 macbook air and dowloaded origin today. I then downloaded Sims 4 and ran it but after being in create a sim for no more than 5 minutes the game crashed. I could still hear the games music but the screen and my entire macbook completely froze and stopped responding and i had to force shut down. I’ve retried opening the game but the same thing happens and i.
  • The M1 MacBook Air has longer battery life than any of its predecessors, supporting up to 15 hours of web browsing. However, if you have a long day, this power bank can keep your device going.
